Author: Zhang Yisun
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 1993-12-01
Features: This book is a comprehensive Tibetan-Chinese bilingual dictionary. To some extent, it reflects various aspects of Tibetan culture, with a wide range of vocabulary and detailed explanations. It holds high practical and academic value and is one of the better Tibetan-Chinese dictionaries available. The Chinese explanations in the book adopt modern written language. The translations of Buddhist and logic studies largely retain the original expressions, which may seem unfamiliar to general readers but can be understood by those with some background knowledge when cross-referencing between Tibetan and Chinese texts. The "Appendix" includes a "Verb Conjugation Table," which was discussed and approved by Tibetan scholars from relevant regions, standardizing verb orthography. The "Chronological Table of Tibetan History" also holds certain reference value. Over a hundred illustrations, in addition to photographs, were drawn by Tibetan artists such as Qiangba, showcasing strong ethnic colors. They not only help in understanding the entries but can also be appreciated as artworks.
