Features: Since its publication, "Western Financial Accounting" has been widely praised as a textbook for accounting majors in some colleges and universities and as the designated teaching material for the higher education self-study examination in Tianjin. The author would like to express his gratitude to the readers. Accounting is a product of the environment, and the development and changes in the objective environment have promoted the reform and progress of accounting. Since the book was published in 1996, significant changes have occurred in both international and domestic environments. China has joined the WTO, and the rapid development of capital markets, listed companies, and transnational groups, as well as the acceleration of the global economy integration process, have all contributed to the advancement of Chinese accounting and its gradual alignment with international practices. During this period, Western accounting theory and practice have also been continuously enriched and developed. To adapt to these developments, the author has made some adjustments and revisions to the original book for this new edition, primarily involving topics such as investments, treasury stock, and cash flow statements. Notably, the original Section 4 of Chapter 13, "Statement of Changes in Financial Position," has been revised to the internationally accepted "Cash Flow Statement," with detailed explanations of its purpose, content, and preparation methods to better meet the needs of readers. Additionally, some exercises have been appropriately added and modified.
