Introduction to Economics

Author: Liu Wei
Publisher:
Publication Date: 2002-10-01
Features: This book is an economic treatise written by Professor Liu Wei of Peking University. It discusses topics such as enterprise reform, the market economy, and value from three perspectives: value theory, property rights theory, and market theory. It serves as an important reference for studying the current socio-economy. When compiling this series of books, we paid attention to the following points:
First, it should reflect the new developments in economic science. Not only are new branches such as environmental economics, network economics, and knowledge economics arranged in the structure, but the content also reflects the latest achievements in economic development.
Second, the content should be comprehensive, systematic, and scientific while being easy to understand and lucid. We strive to express profound theories in plain language as much as possible.
Third, we should properly handle the relationship between editing and writing. This series of books not only absorbs the latest achievements in domestic and international economic research and teaching (the "edit"), but also combines the author's teaching and research practices and achievements (the "write"). It also incorporates the author's understanding of real-world economic life. Without extensive research ("edit"), it is difficult for the author to broaden the reader's perspective and grasp the essence of the field. Without a foundation in teaching and research ("write"), the textbook would lack depth and disconnect from reality.
Fourth, we focus on combining the "cold" (fundamental theoretical issues) and "hot" (current practical issues) aspects. We aim to incorporate the logic and philosophy of real life when discussing "cold" theoretical issues, and to provide theoretical satisfaction when addressing "hot" practical issues.
