Features: Junior English Extended Reading (Grade 8) and Junior English Extended Reading (Grade 9) are designed to improve English reading skills for junior high school students. Each book consists of 36 lessons, with each lesson featuring an article of approximately 1,000 words. The content focuses on familiar fairy tales and stories close to students' lives. Information such as the word count and difficulty level of each article is provided at the end. The difficulty levels are as follows: 70–80 (moderately difficult), 80–90 (easy), and 90–100 (very easy). The higher the number, the simpler the article. The difficulty coefficient of the articles in this book is mostly above 90. It is recommended to read each article twice: the first time for a quick read to grasp the main idea; then answer the comprehension questions at the end to check understanding. During the first reading, you can record the reading time and calculate your reading speed based on the word count provided. The second reading should be done with appreciation, focusing on understanding the details. After reading, it is suggested to review the article and the vocabulary and phrases marked in the notes, then complete the "Language Consolidation" exercises. The first part of the exercises requires writing the Chinese meaning of words or phrases to reinforce the vocabulary learned. The second part focuses on practicing important sentence patterns from the article. If you don’t understand why certain words are used in the original sentences, that’s okay—the goal is to develop a sense of these patterns, which will become clearer over time. Through this practice, you will truly grasp the essence of grammar learning. Each lesson also includes a humorous story in the "Fun Zone" as a reward for your hard work. In Junior English Extended Reading (Grade 8), the Little Tom series of jokes, with Tom’s wit and humor, is particularly amusing and can remind you of the wonderful moments of your childhood.
