Features: Ability 1 Learn to Be a Creative Person
Social and historical progress creates new ways of thinking, and new ways of thinking become catalytic forces for social and historical advancement. To achieve success, one must harness creativity, learn to break through oneself, and constantly innovate. The courage to challenge traditional concepts is the "secret" to many people's success. The potential of the human brain is almost limitless. Those who passively accept stagnation and refuse to improve their thinking abilities will ultimately face failure. ⊙ Modern people must strive to develop their brain potential (1) Ordinary people only use 2% to 5% of their brain power.
Benjamin Franklin (1706–1790), a renowned American statesman, diplomat, scientist, and writer, amazed the world with his versatile talents. He was elected governor of Pennsylvania four times, drafted the "Freedom of the Press Act," invented the harmonica, rocking chair, street lamp, lightning rod, bifocal glasses, and granular fertilizer. He discovered the Gulf Stream, the harmfulness of exhaled air, the cause of the common cold, the identity of electricity and discharge, designed the Franklin stove and white linen summer clothing, and introduced peanuts and sorghum to the United States. He first explained the aurora borealis, first created storm track maps, developed the venting method, pioneered commercial advertising, first organized fire departments, first established street cleaning departments, and was the founder of political cartoons and rental libraries. He proposed summer daylight saving time, was America's first aphorist, and was also a leading newspaper journalist and printer. He authored Poor Richard's Almanack and was the first to reform English pronunciation. He was also known as the father of modern dentistry, the founder of the Democratic Party in the United States, the creator of the modern postal system, and the inventor of advertising illustrations. He developed modern election laws for parliament and was one of the most popular autobiographies in the world, with hundreds of reprints in the UK and the US, still widely read today. He was also famous as a swimmer.
Admittedly, people like Franklin, who show exceptional talents in various fields, are rare. However, this is enough to illustrate a principle: as long as one is willing, there is nothing one cannot do. As ordinary people, although we may not excel in dozens of areas, if we try to explore broader fields, even if we do not achieve fame or expertise, our lives will become more diverse and fulfilling. A monotonous and tedious life often makes the most patient person lose patience. By now, you should fully believe: there is still much you can do.
