With the advancement of globalization, our country is increasingly integrating into the international community, and bilateral exchanges with the global community are becoming more frequent. In this context, translation activities bear an extremely important responsibility. From a modern perspective, translation is a special form of cross-linguistic and cross-cultural communication. The translation process is essentially an information processing process, requiring the handling of original information, original linguistic code information, original author information, channel information (communication context, communication medium, and the broader sociocultural environment), as well as original recipient information (a point often overlooked). The ability to process information effectively during the translation process determines the quality of translation. Our goal in writing this book is to help readers improve their information processing skills. The book consists of 16 units. Each unit includes three main parts: "Annotated Texts," "Translation Techniques," and "Translation Exercises." The "Annotated Texts" aim to demonstrate the thought process of information processing in translation. The "Translation Techniques" summarize the editors' practical experience in translation and provide theoretical explanations, while the "Translation Exercises" offer readers opportunities for practice. The final part of the book includes translations of the texts and exercises for reference.
