The focus of the revision work was on adding new content, which mainly included: (1) new research findings and materials on Marxist philosophy, especially Deng Xiaoping Theory and Jiang Zemin's series of important statements; (2) new research findings and materials on contemporary and modern philosophy abroad; (3) new research findings and materials related to Chinese philosophy from recent archaeological discoveries in the past decade; (4) new research findings and materials on contemporary science and technology related to philosophy; (5) new research findings and materials on philosophy from interdisciplinary and marginal disciplines. The materials used were up to December 2000, reflecting the current research level and material status in China. The Great Dictionary of Philosophy (Revised Edition) includes approximately 14,210 entries on terms, doctrines, schools, figures, works, journals, organizations, events, and conferences related to ancient and modern philosophy in China and abroad. It contains about 7.2 million words, covering branches of philosophy such as Marxist philosophy, Chinese philosophy, foreign philosophy, logic, aesthetics, ethics, philosophy of science and technology, as well as related content from disciplines such as theology, political science, sociology, psychology, education, law, military science, and archaeology.
