Will eating duck eggs cause milk to stop?

Patient's question:

I just had a baby two weeks ago, and relatives came to visit, bringing a lot of duck eggs. My best friend told me that eating too many duck eggs can cause milk to dry up. I'm not sure about this, and I'd like to ask a doctor if duck eggs can indeed cause milk to dry up.

Doctor's answer:

No. Duck eggs are primarily rich in nutrients such as protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, sodium, and chlorine. They have the effects of nourishing yin and clearing the lungs. They are known for their benefits in replenishing deficiency, nourishing yin and blood, moisturizing the lungs, and improving skin. Common foods that can easily induce milk suppression include fried hawthorn and fried malt. Other common foods, such as eggs, duck eggs, milk, soy milk, poultry and fish, seafood, do not have the effect of inducing milk suppression. You can maintain a normal diet during breastfeeding. Avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, and taking birth control pills. Drink less strong tea, coffee, and beverages.
