Is it always on the right side during pregnancy, is it a girl?

Patient's question:

I am 22 years old this year, and I am currently 4 and a half months pregnant. I have noticed that the fetal movements are quite frequent and have been mostly on the right side. I heard that it might be more likely to be a girl. I wanted to ask if fetal movements always on the right side indicate a girl?

Doctor's answer:

Generally speaking, predicting a baby's gender based on fetal movement is very unreliable. This is mainly because the fetus has a lot of space to move during its development, and it doesn't mean that if the fetal movement is on the right side, it's a girl. The position of fetal movement is mainly determined by the (fetal position), and it has nothing to do with gender. The gender can usually be determined through an ultrasound examination, but there is a certain rate of misdiagnosis. As long as a healthy baby is born, that is acceptable.
It is recommended to eat more nutrient-rich and easily digestible foods during pregnancy, consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and enhance your physical fitness to improve your immunity.
