What blood type is the baby

Patient's question:

[Condition Description: I am AB blood type, my wife is B blood type, we just had a baby, and I don't know what the baby's blood type is. Medical history and effectiveness: No tests have been conducted. Desired help: I want to know what blood type the baby is.]

Doctor's answer:

The inheritance of the three ABO antigens is controlled by three alleles, with the blood type gene being a multiple allele. At the relative loci, three blood type genes can appear, namely A, B, or O, resulting in six possible combinations at the relative loci, such as AA, BB, OO, AB, AO, or BO, known as the genetic formula. A or B are dominant genes, while O is recessive. Corresponding to the genetic formula, the phenotypes are A, B, O, AB, A, and B types, which practically result in four blood types: A, B, O, and AB. During the fusion of sperm and egg cells, the relative chromosomes of the father and mother pair up, passing half of each parent's traits to the offspring. For example, if the father has an A blood type with a genetic formula of AO (assumed), half of his germ cells carry the A-type gene, while the other half carry the O-type gene. If the mother has a B blood type with a genetic formula of BO (assumed), the offspring can have A, B, O, or AB blood types. If the mother is BB, the offspring will exhibit AB or B blood types.
