Is the embryo long-shaped, is it a boy?

Patient's question:

My good friend is 25 years old this year. A couple of days ago, he told me that she is pregnant with a boy. Is it true that a long-shaped embryo indicates a boy?

Doctor's answer:

An egg is called a zygote or fertilized egg within 2 weeks after fertilization; the period from the 3rd to the 8th week after fertilization is called the embryonic stage. Developing from a single fertilized egg into a new individual involves a series of very complex changes. Reason: The gender of the fetus is primarily determined by the sperm from the male, not by the shape of the fetus's growth, which cannot indicate whether it is male or female. A mature human egg cell has a diameter of 0.12 millimeters and is visible to the naked eye as a small white dot, appearing circular under a microscope. The length of a sperm is 0.06 millimeters, and under a microscope, X sperm have larger and rounder heads, while Y sperm have smaller and sharper heads. The difference in shape between X and Y sperm is because they carry different DNA.
