Features: This book is designed to systematically describe and analyze the century-long development of contemporary Russian Orthodox theological theory. It is part of the theoretical exploration undertaken by Dr. Zhuo Xinping as part of the Major Research Project of the National Social Science Fund of China and the Key Research Project of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences titled "The Current Status and Development Trends of Christianity." It is also part of the series "Contemporary Christian Religious Studies." The book is divided into four parts. Part "Historical Introduction" outlines the historical background of the emergence of Russian Orthodox theology, including its definition and the development of independent Russian religious theological thought. The second part discusses the theological thought of the Russian "religious philosophers." The third part examines the theological thought in "theological seminaries," including the theological ideas of the October scholars. The fourth part summarizes the "unique theological themes" of Russian Orthodoxy, which give Russian Orthodox theology its distinctive characteristics and a relatively independent status within Christian theology. The theological thought of contemporary Russian writers, religious philosophers, and Orthodox theologians discussed in the book has been systematically explored in China for the first time.
