Emily Bront? was born in 1818. Her father was a clergyman in an English church, and they lived in a remote area of Yorkshire. Emily had two older sisters and a younger brother, all of whom were highly talented. Her sister Charlotte wrote the famous novel Jane Eyre. Their mother passed away at an early age, and their stern father had little influence on their lives. Emily greatly cherished the rural life of her hometown, and her only novel, Wuthering Heights, vividly depicts the local customs and culture. At the same time, she also created many high-quality poetic works. Emily Bront? passed away in 1848.
