Features: The "Common 1000 Characters Practice Book" was compiled to complement the "List of Common Characters in Modern Chinese." This practice book arranges the 3,500 common characters from the "List of Common Characters in Modern Chinese" into 35 exercises. Each exercise focuses on helping students master 100 characters. The practice methods include "Writing Characters by Pinyin," "Adding Pinyin to Characters with Dots," "Idiom Completion," "Choosing Characters to Form Words," "Correcting Misspelled Characters," and "Correcting Mispronounced Characters," among others. The principles of compiling this practice book are:
1. Reflecting the characteristics of the sound, form, and meaning of Chinese characters. It strives to help students master these common characters from multiple aspects, such as pronunciation, structural form, and meaning, through exercises.
2. Highlighting key points. The characters with the highest usage that students are prone to misread or miswrite are emphasized, appearing repeatedly for reinforcement.
3. Spreading out difficulties. Each exercise includes both common and secondary common characters. Additionally, to make it convenient for students to find the characters they are practicing, each exercise indicates the range of 100 characters being practiced in the "List of Common Characters in Modern Chinese" by stroke order, from character X to character X, along with the starting and ending page numbers. The practice book is accompanied by answers to all exercises at the end. During the use of this practice book, some errors were found, and revisions have been made in this new edition. To help students self-assess their mastery of the 3,500 common characters, we have also added two comprehensive self-assessment tests, A and B.
