Features: Dalian is a beautiful pearl nestled at the southern tip of Northeast China. It is surrounded by mountains and faces the sea, with convenient transportation, serving as the window of Northeast China and the gateway to Beijing and Tianjin. Dalian is a relatively young city with only over a hundred years of history, making it a true modern metropolis. However, the first half of its century-long history witnessed the suffering of old China under the oppression of foreign powers. Together with China's trials and tribulations, Dalian entered a new era. Especially after the Chinese government's reform and opening-up, Dalian has experienced rapid development in all aspects of its society. Guided by the development philosophy of "seeking excellence rather than size," Dalian's reputation has grown increasingly high in Northeast China, the nation, and even the world. It is gradually becoming a uniquely charming modern city and one of the "most livable cities in the world."
Dalian is located at the southern tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, with the Bohai Sea to the west and the Yellow Sea to the east, facing the vast Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by mountains and water, it boasts picturesque scenery, a pleasant climate, and is a renowned coastal tourist city in China. Its coastal areas are dotted with numerous bays and rocky formations, creating a unique landscape of blue skies, green seas, white sands, and black rocks. This forms an elegant and beautiful seaside scenery, making it a famous tourist, leisure, and health resort in northern China.
The southern coastal area of the city stretches over 30 kilometers, connecting scenic spots such as the Bantui Island coastline, Tiger Beach Amusement Park, Fuzhuang Beach, Baiyun Mountain Villa Park, Xinghai Park, and the Xinghai Convention and Exhibition Center in a linear fashion. The numerous rocks and islands near the coast are diverse and fascinating, with ever-changing appearances. There are dozens of scenic spots along the coast, connected by a coastal highway for easy access.
As the saying goes, "If you don't visit Lushun, you've come to Dalian in vain." Lushun is another scenic area in Dalian, featuring both the natural harbor of Lushun Military Port and unique natural landscapes such as Snake Island and Bird Island, known as the "Kingdom of Snakes." The Jinshitan National Tourist Resort, Zhuanghe Bingyu Scenic Area, Hainanjiu Island Scenic Area, and Lianhua Lake Tourist Area are also well-developed with distinctive features. Visiting Lushun is more about exploring the mountains than the sea. The area is rich in mountains with names like White Jade Mountain, Golden Mountain, and Silver Mountain, each more magnificent than the last. There are also unique towers such as the White Jade Tower, Victory Tower, and Friendship Tower.
Dalian's social and cultural life is vibrant, making it a renowned "Clothing City," "Football City," and "Tourism City." Every May, when the wisteria blooms in full splendor, the city further showcases its charm as the "City of Wisteria."
