Features: This book is relatively short but rich in content and written in fluent literature. The author, a former Hanlin scholar, served as an imperial official for over ten years and was appointed as an academic inspector multiple times. In his later years, he held various high-ranking positions, making him well-versed in political anecdotes, imperial examinations, and the functions of officials. The descriptions in the book are particularly detailed. Additionally, it covers topics such as civil affairs, finance, anecdotes of scholars, local customs, mountains, rivers, and geographical changes. As a result, it holds significant reference value for research on mid-Qing politics, economy, military, culture, and social life. This book is not widely circulated. According to the collator, only one edition—a by the Zhejiang Official Paper Bureau—was found. This edition is used for the collation. The book consists of one volume, divided into two parts (upper and lower), with twelve lines per half-page and thirty-two characters per line. There is no preface, postface, or inscription. An appendix titled "Brief Biography of Wu Ling Zhao Wenke Gong" is included, which is also collated and included here.
