Features: This series of books has two key concepts: "Mountain and Water Stories" and "Mountain and Water Sentiment." The rich variety of "stories" behind the mountains and waters is a major characteristic of Chinese landscapes. Due to the long-standing civilization and historical heritage, as well as the long-term influence of agricultural life, the "stories" behind the mountains and waters of China are particularly abundant, meaning that the cultural landscapes are exceptionally rich, and the accumulation of historical and cultural heritage is particularly profound. This series blends landscape aesthetics, anecdotes and legends, literary works about mountains and waters, and local customs and traditions, offering readers a "comprehensive collection of mountain and water stories."
Mountain and Water Sentiment is a unique cultural mindset formed by the ancestors of China in their long-term agricultural society. The publication of this series in its current form is the result of the joint efforts of many colleagues and friends. Special thanks go to Mr. Luo Zhewen, who traveled extensively to protect cultural heritage, as well as the renowned photographers Gu Di, Li Yuxiang, Wu Yinnan, and Li Xiangde, who provided a wealth of photographs of cultural relics, historic sites, and mountain and water art, adding a rich classical poetic charm to the series.
