Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or complete rewrites, it has been renamed as "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series, and is now re-published and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. At this re-publication, sincere gratitude is extended to millions of readers across the country.
The Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiad (referred to as "Subject Olympiad") is one of China's most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competitions for primary and secondary school students. Subject Olympiads are inspired by and derived from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, and comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness—qualities that are at the core of quality education. This is also the need for future development.
Based on years of careful study of this activity both domestically and internationally, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from across the country to compile and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology—seven core subjects—comprising over 200 varieties. In terms of variety, quantity, and quality, our Olympiad books are among the most influential in the industry both domestically and internationally, and are considered the most appealing to primary and secondary school teachers and students.
The purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from textbooks but exceeding them. Derived from textbooks means referencing the latest [Ministry of Education Curriculum Standards]; exceeding them means closely aligning with competition syllabi at all levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and skill requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing abilities.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise and well-structured. Each book is designed according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a progressive approach, offering in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive problem-solving methods.
3. New: Features novel and engaging question types. It compiles the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both China and abroad, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as innovative ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Refined: Selects exemplary problems that are challenging yet logical, flexible, and achievable. Emphasizes learning by example and applying knowledge to different contexts; focuses on multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches; and prioritizes training critical thinking skills over rote memorization, making learning an enjoyable hobby.
5. Renowned: Assembles top educators and competition highlights. The Editorial Department has collaborated with distinguished professors from renowned universities, elite teachers from key secondary schools, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad medal coaches.
