Features: The accelerated pace of modern life and the diversity of learning methods have made "calligraphy collections" play an increasingly prominent role in today's calligraphy learning process. These collections, featuring various calligraphy styles and the styles of different calligraphers, enable learners to achieve dual benefits of copying and creating in a short time, enhancing interest in calligraphy learning. Therefore, "calligraphy collections" are widely favored by calligraphy enthusiasts and teachers.
Shanghai Fine Arts Publishing House, after publishing the first series of "Chinese Couplets Calligraphy Collections" primarily in regular script and clerical script, now introduces the second series of "Calligraphy Couplets," featuring running script, cursive script, Wei Stele script, and Han bamboo slips, totaling eight volumes. This series emphasizes capturing the essence of the original steles or calligraphers' styles, striving for natural and appropriate details in converting steles to ink, and arranging radicals and structures. At the same time, it also aims to achieve unity with variation in the response between couplets, layout, and overall composition, providing readers with more and better references for calligraphy learning.
This collection is based on the running script of Wang Xizhi from the Eastern Jin Dynasty, with the main steles used for collecting characters being "The Orchid Pavilion Preface" and "The Collection of Wang Xizhi's Sacred Teachings" by Huairen.
