Features: This textbook is jointly developed by our press and Macmillan Education, a world-renowned English education publishing institution in the UK, as the first set of "one-stop" English textbooks for primary and secondary schools in China. It is based on thorough research and scientific research and development, in accordance with the "National English Curriculum Standards" formulated by the Ministry of Education. The chief editor of this textbook is Professor Chen Lin, head of the research team for the "National English Curriculum Standards" of the Ministry of Education and a professor at Beijing Foreign Studies University. The deputy editor is Professor Lu Ziwen, head of the national project group for the research and experiment of the dynamic and authentic principles of primary and secondary school English education under the Ministry of Education's planned project. Professor Chen Lin has been engaged in English education for 50 years. In the early 1960s, she participated in the research and planning of the "one-stop" foreign language teaching program advocated by Premier Zhou Enlai. Professor Lu Ziwen, based on years of teaching and research in primary and secondary schools and universities, applied for the aforementioned national project and conducted extensive experiments in nearly 400 primary and secondary schools across 28 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, gathering a large amount of data and materials. The British editor-in-chief of the textbook, Printha Ellis, and the editor Naomi Simmons are both internationally renowned experts in English textbook writing and have written English textbooks and readers for preschool and primary and secondary schools in many countries around the world. Other experienced primary and secondary school special-grade teachers and education and research personnel such as Su Lihong, Wang Yanping, and Wang Jiaji also participated in the writing of this textbook. Beijing Foreign Studies University Affiliated Primary School provided the filming location for the activities in this textbook, and several students participated in the shooting of the textbook pictures.
