Features: This book is one of the "Learn Tai Chi by Pictures Series." To meet the needs of the general public for fitness exercises, enrich the content of Tai Chi, and improve technical skills, the former State Physical Culture and Sports Commission (now the General Administration of Sport of China) organized relevant experts in 1979 to develop the "24-Style Tai Chi" as the foundation for this book. The entire book consists of six parts: How to Learn Tai Chi from Pictures, an Introduction to the 48-Style Tai Chi, the Names of the 48-Style Tai Chi Movements, Illustrations of the 48-Style Tai Chi Practice, Schematics of the 48-Style Tai Chi Movement Paths, and Key Principles for Improving the 48-Style Tai Chi. The movement paths in this book use dashed lines to represent the upper and lower limbs on the left side of the body and solid lines to represent those on the right side. The endpoint of the upper and lower limbs shown in each movement illustration is the starting point for the next illustration. This set of Tai Chi has increased both the number and difficulty of movements. The entire set has a compact, fluid, and natural structure, with an emphasis on symmetrical left-right practice, making it highly valuable for fitness. Through over 200 clear photographs of Tai Chi movements, this book vividly and sequentially demonstrates the process of each move in the 48-Style Tai Chi. The practitioners in the book are martial arts experts from a physical education university, whose movements are standard, precise, and well-executed.
