Features: Criminal Procedure Law is one of the series of textbooks for the 21st century published by the Law School of Xiamen University. Over the years, through extensive research and surveys, we have summarized the teaching experience in criminal procedure law. Through repeated discussions and revisions, we have compiled this textbook. It is a crystallization of collective wisdom. The contributors have offered suggestions and strived to present the latest research findings, enriching the content of this book. The features of this textbook are as follows:
First, it emphasizes the applied nature of criminal procedure law. Criminal procedure law is an applied discipline, and therefore, studying criminal procedure law must focus on its practicality. This book adheres to the principle of linking theory with practice, emphasizing the interpretation of new criminal procedure legislation, the analysis of key, difficult, and controversial issues in judicial practice, the research of new situations and problems, and the analysis of latest judicial interpretations.
Second, it pays attention to absorbing new research findings. Since the implementation of the new Criminal Procedure Law in 1997, scholars have continued to focus on its operation in judicial practice, promptly analyzing and researching new situations and problems that have emerged in law enforcement. A large number of targeted, constructive, and innovative theoretical works have been published, and these important research achievements undoubtedly have significant theoretical guidance for the further improvement of China's criminal procedure legislation and the deepening of judicial reforms. This textbook emphasizes the absorption of the latest research findings in criminal procedure law in recent years, especially since the implementation of the Criminal Procedure Law in 1997, thereby enriching its content.
Third, it focuses on in-depth research on key issues. As a textbook, it should cover the basic content of the discipline, but it does not aim to be all-encompassing or evenly balanced, instead focusing on the main and supplementary aspects. This textbook has made efforts in this regard. It provides a more thorough explanation of key issues while only summarizing general rules to save space.
