Features: Zhong Jingwen was intelligent and diligent in his youth, with a passion for poetry and literature. In 1922, he graduated from Lu'an Normal School in Haifeng County. During his time at the normal school, influenced by the New Culture Movement, he began writing vernacular poems. After graduation, he taught in primary schools in his hometown. In the mid-1920s, he went to Guangzhou to work and study at the Chinese Department of Lingnan University. In the autumn of 1927, he became a teaching assistant in the Chinese Department of Sun Yat-sen University and organized the Folklore Society with Gu Jiegang and others. He edited Folk Literature, Folklore, and a series of folklore studies, while also writing prose and vernacular poems. He published a collection of essays and a collection of essays on folk literature.
