Features: Currently, it is a transitional period between the old and the new. The old-style plate-tuned transmitters have not yet been fully replaced and are still in operation. Even if updated to new types of transmitters like PDM and PSM, they still fall under the category of plate-tuning. This indicates that plate-tuning, as a modulation method, has not been abolished. Additionally, new transmitters have largely achieved solid-state operation, with the exception of the high-power final stages of shortwave transmitters, which still use vacuum tubes or ceramic tetrodes. In light of the current situation, this book systematically explains the fundamental theories of new technologies while also covering the basic theories of plate-tuning and vacuum tubes. As a practical technical book for broadcast transmitters, it avoids complex mathematical derivations, aiming to be easy to understand, illustrated with visuals, and self-teaching-friendly. It also introduces the rich operational, maintenance, and testing experience accumulated by the two authors over more than 30 years of maintenance and management work, which helps improve the on-duty, repair, testing, and fault-handling capabilities of broadcast station maintenance technicians.
