Past Lessons: Many candidates only realize after failing the college entrance exam that the main reason for their failure was the lack of a practical review outline. These outlines didn’t guide them on how to review, how to create a study plan, which knowledge points were the focus and difficulties, or how to answer questions more reasonably. Most candidates passively followed their teachers’ pace, rarely creating their own study plans aligned with their teachers’ progress, and were unable to proactively and purposefully engage in key senior high school learning and review.
To address this, Beijing Tianli Examination Information Network, in collaboration with the Examination Research Center of the National Learning Science Research Association, invited outstanding and senior teachers from the frontline of teaching to compile this "College Entrance Exam Review Outline." This book not only helps candidates solve the problems mentioned above but also provides clear requirements and goals for the college entrance exam and explains core knowledge. The book has several key features:
1. The teaching syllabus – examination syllabus – examination review syllabus is a continuous progression, clearly indicating the requirements and focus of the college entrance exam.
2. Structure: The book is divided into five chapters:
- Chapter 1 is dedicated to candidates in provinces with independent exam questions, offering advice on selecting supplementary materials and preparing for the exam.
- Chapter 2 covers college entrance exam review methods and the review effectiveness table, guiding candidates to set and achieve their review goals based on their strengths.
- Chapter 3 provides a targeted college entrance exam review outline, helping candidates focus their efforts effectively.
- Chapter 4 offers an interpretation of core knowledge points, enabling candidates to grasp the key review areas of the subject.
- Chapter 5 includes grading and scoring rules, as well as (exam-taking tips), providing guidance on quickly and accurately understanding questions, answering, and overcoming difficulties.
3. The core of the book—the college entrance exam review outline helps candidates review with purpose, plan systematically, and understand key points across all subjects, allowing them to easily master the core content of the exam.
4. This book is suitable for candidates across all provinces and cities in the country.
- Although China’s secondary school curriculum reforms have been rapidly advancing in recent years, with more provinces adopting independent exams, this does not change the nature of the unified college entrance exam. Candidates still take the exam under the same teaching syllabus.
- Provinces responsible for organizing the exam uniformly implement the "Examination Syllabus" issued by the Ministry of Education. While some independent exam provinces provide supplementary notes on the syllabus, these notes do not exceed the Ministry’s overall requirements, do not alter the difficulty level, and do not change the nature, requirements (or content), or scope of the exam as stipulated in the syllabus. They only clarify aspects such as the proportion of question types and difficulty levels in the exam papers.
- A review of recent years’ examination syllabi reveals that their key content has not changed significantly. The content referenced in this book is based on the 2005 "Examination Syllabus" released by the National Education Examination Center. Candidates can allocate their time and effort reasonably based on the key points and hints about focus and difficulties to complete the first round of review. After the new syllabus is released, they can then prepare for the later rounds of review by addressing the differences between the old and new syllabi.
It should be noted that some provinces with independent exams do not assess the newly added content in the 2005 syllabus. For example, Jiangxi Province explicitly states that the 2005 Chinese exam paper will not cover questions about the era and representative works of important Chinese writers. However, this does not rule out the possibility of such content appearing in the 2006 college entrance exam.
- The part of the math exam content marked with () (literature) or () (science) indicates that it is suitable for candidates in those respective streams. Content without such markings is applicable to both literature and science candidates.
- The text in bold font in the book represents the requirements of the 2005 "Examination Syllabus."
We sincerely hope this book helps you achieve your dream of entering your ideal university!
