Features: Americans love humor. In the United States, humor is everywhere, so much so that anyone can add a touch of humor, and anyone can be the subject of a joke. One could say that political humor is like sprinkling a little chili pepper on political figures or events, instantly giving them flavor, and the more you "chew" on it, the more enjoyable it becomes. After coming to the U.S., cutting out political cartoons from newspapers and magazines became one of my major hobbies. If I couldn’t understand the text, I would ask the translator next door to the office for help; if the content was unclear, I would look up books and reference materials. Even after fully understanding everything, if I couldn’t find the humorous aspect, I would ask my American friends. Over the course of three years, the author collected over 500 cartoons. When there was nothing to do, flipping through them always brought me a sense of joy. From these, the author selected 163 cartoons that combined knowledge and fun, translated them, added explanations and notes, and wanted to share this knowledge and joy with friends who hope to learn more about the U.S.
