Features: This set of art foundation books consists of four volumes: "Plaster Geometry," "Still Life," "Plaster Busts," and "Plaster Seated Figures." Sketching is an essential component of visual arts, serving as a crucial form of painting that cultivates observation, analysis, aesthetic appreciation, and expressive skills. The subject matter of this volume focuses on commonly used plaster geometric forms, which aligns well with learning and examination content. The depicted objects primarily employ multi-angle, structural line drawing combined with chiaroscuro techniques, facilitating quick, convenient, and accurate reference and analysis for beginners, achieving a certain real-time effect.
Through long-term teaching experience, we have found that beginners often overlook the volume of objects when depicting their structural relationships, resulting in a flat appearance and a lack of three-dimensional spatial depth. Additionally, when portraying the light and shadow relationships of objects, they may inaccurately represent the forms due to a lack of structural precision.
Considering these reasons, we believe that alternating between different perspectives, structures, and chiaroscuro techniques when drawing or copying the same object can yield twice the result with half the effort, thereby enhancing sketching skills. We hope that this set of books will provide some assistance to (a wide range of beginners in sketching).
