Features: On the occasion of the centenary of Chen Yun's birth, Contemporary China Publishing House published the book "The Development History of Chen Yun's Economic Thought." This book is the research outcome of a major project under the National Social Science Fund of China. It was edited by Li Chengrui, former Director of the National Bureau of Statistics and a long-time practitioner of economic work and economic theory research, and co-edited by Zhu Jiamu, Vice President of our institute and Director of the Contemporary China Research Institute. The book spans 600,000 words and is a comprehensive and systematic monograph on the development history of Chen Yun's economic thought. Based on the exploration and development of Chen Yun's economic thought during various revolutionary and construction periods, the book is divided into five periods: maturing during the revolutionary wars; laying the foundation during the restoration of the national economy; forming the basic framework during the initial comprehensive socialist construction and the "Three Great Transformations"; undergoing tests and enrichment during the "Great Leap Forward" and the adjustment of the national economy; and further developing during the later period of the Cultural Revolution and the new era of socialist construction. Grounded in extensive research materials, the book strictly adheres to the historical context in studying and elaborating on the development of Chen Yun's economic thought, authentically reflecting his significant contributions to socialist economic thought and other areas. In explaining the specific process of the formation of Chen Yun's economic thought, the book also strives to embody the dialectical materialist methodology he advocated and practiced—"not relying solely on superiors or books, but only on facts; exchanging views, comparing, and repeating"—as well as his work style of emphasizing practice, personally taking action, being meticulous and pragmatic, and making well-considered decisions.

The features of this book are as follows: Grounded in extensive research materials, it strictly adheres to the historical context in studying and elaborating on the development of Chen Yun's economic thought, striving to achieve a unity of historical and logical analysis. At the same time, it strives to demonstrate how Chen Yun applied the dialectical materialist methodology he advocated—"not relying solely on superiors or books, but only on facts; exchanging views, comparing, and repeating"—to solve practical problems, thereby forming his economic thought.
