Features: Zhao Zhitian, male, born in 1940, Han nationality, from Jinzhou City, Hebei Province. In 1957, he entered the Affiliated High School of Central Academy of Fine Arts. After graduating in 1960, he enrolled in the Chinese Painting Department of Central Academy of Fine Arts, studying under masters such as Ye Qianyu, Jiang Zhaohe, Li Kuchan, and Liu Lingcang. In 1965, upon graduation, he was accepted as a professional painter at Beijing Art Institute, where he has worked ever since. Currently, he is a member of the China Artists Association, a part-time professor at Beijing Normal University of Education, a specially appointed painter at Xinhua Fine Art Institute and Shenzhou Fine Art Institute, and a first-class national fine arts master.
Over nearly three decades of artistic practice, he has traveled extensively across the Yellow River and Yangtze River regions, immersing himself in life while continuously absorbing the finest artistic traditions from both China and the world. Through integration, comprehension, and in-depth exploration, he has gradually developed his own artistic style and expression methods, creating a series of outstanding works. Notable examples include Workers of Daqing Have No Winter, Affection for Taihang, Heart Tied to the Taihang, The Emperor Qin Shi Huang Casting Bells, Spirit of the Chinese Nation, and Spring News from My Hometown.
In 1989, he was invited to San Francisco, USA, to hold two solo exhibitions. In early 1994, he traveled to Taiwan to participate in a joint exhibition of works by renowned painters from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, receiving widespread acclaim. In June 1996, he held a solo exhibition in Canada, and in December 1996, he held another exhibition in Singapore.
Major works include Workers of Daqing Have No Winter, Hope—Premier Zhou Enlai in Daqing, Traversing Green Mountains, Exploration, Affection for Taihang, The Emperor Qin Shi Huang Casting Bells, Zhongshan Feast and Music, Taibai Immortal Journey, Cai Wenji Returns to Han, The Legend of Pipa, and Taihang Morning Glow. Currently, he is a professional painter at Beijing Art Institute.
