Features: To meet the needs of lantern riddle enthusiasts and cultural organizers for various festivals and anniversaries, the author has compiled this book, "Newly Compiled Lantern Riddles, 5000 in Total," without shying away from his limitations. The word "Newly Compiled" in the title has two meanings: first, most of the lantern riddles in the book are newly created by the author in recent years; second, the arrangement style is different from the author's previous puzzle books. This book is divided into two parts: the upper part is "Lantern Riddles for Festivals and Anniversaries," and the lower part is "Lantern Riddles on Various Topics," with a total of 54 categories and over 5,000 riddles. Readers can select and use them as needed. To allow readers to enjoy themselves, this book arranges the riddle clues and answers in separate columns. In the answers at the back of the book, the key "elucidations" () of the riddles are clearly marked, and readers are encouraged to pay attention and not just skim through them. Additionally, this book includes an "Appendix," which provides detailed examples for the 21 common riddle formats used in the book. Lastly, the author would like to express his gratitude to Professor Zhong Fulan of the School of Communication at East China Normal University, a renowned folklorist and president of the Shanghai Folklore Society, for taking the time to write the preface for this book.
