Features: APRESS is a new publishing company created by a group of authors passionate about book publishing, following an "author-centric" publishing philosophy. We dedicate high-quality books to you, IT professionals, programmers, and many programming enthusiasts. We provide authors with the space to fully realize their inspiration, with every book published originating from the author's planning rather than being dictated by the publisher. Our mission is to provide readers with the valuable experience and information of authors, enabling direct communication between readers and authors. For Java programmers and application architects, JDO holds significant value. JDO defines a universal persistence for Java objects, bringing numerous advantages to application development. JDO greatly reduces the amount of code required for relational databases and is independent of the database architecture. This book is divided into two parts. The first part introduces the basic concepts of JDO, queries, persistence managers, transactions and caching, enhanced classes and managed fields, as well as JDOHelper, callbacks, and exceptions. The second part discusses application design issues and coding patterns for each architecture. The book also provides examples to demonstrate client/server applications, web applications, and applications using Enterprise JavaBeans. I hope my years of experience using JDO to build applications will benefit the readers. This book is primarily aimed at Java programmers and application architects.
