Features: Tao Yiqing has been engaged in Chinese painting creation and teaching for over fifty years, having experienced the changes of centuries. Comparing the new and old China, he often speaks with deep emotion: "It is the New China that has given me true artistic life." He has been a lifelong learner, deeply devoted to art, possessing an indomitable will and spirit of perseverance beyond ordinary people. Tao Yiqing often painted from 6 a.m. until late at night, persistently year after year. In painting, to depict the new life with fresher and richer brushwork, he deeply immersed himself in life, sketched extensively, studied poetry to cultivate his temperament, and poured his love for the motherland into his brushwork, fully expressing his emotions for the mountains and rivers. In 1956, to commemorate the Long March of the Red Army, he tirelessly traveled along the route of the historic event for months, gathering a wealth of materials. Upon returning, he created a large number of works reflecting the theme of the Red Army's Long March, such as "The Great Bridge Over the Dadu River with Iron Cables in the Cold," "Ten Thousand Mountains and Rivers," and "Pingxing Pass."
