Features: The main purpose of compiling this book is to select outstanding prose from the vast collection of ancient Chinese prose that is concise, elegant in language, and represents the creative personalities of writers from different eras. It is hoped that these exquisite masterpieces will have an artistic appeal and inspirational impact on readers, offering both aesthetic enjoyment of prose art and spiritual cultivation and elevation. Based on this, we carefully selected 160 prose pieces from 120 authors from the pre-Qin period to the late Qing Dynasty. Among them, the pre-Qin and Han Dynasty section includes 14 authors and 14 pieces; the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties section includes 14 authors and 14 pieces; the Tang Dynasty section includes 13 authors and 25 pieces; the Song Dynasty section includes 24 authors and 43 pieces; the Jin and Yuan Dynasty section includes 7 authors and 8 pieces; the Ming Dynasty section includes 19 authors and 27 pieces; and the Qing Dynasty section includes 29 authors and 29 pieces. During the compilation process of this book, we insisted on selecting concise, exquisite, and elegant prose. Historical prose, political essays, and fables are not within the scope of our selection. However, even so, faced with numerous famous and excellent prose works in the history of prose, it often bewilders people and makes them reluctant to part with them. The title of this book is "New Selected Ancient Prose View of the End," which expresses our admiration for the compilers of "Ancient Prose View of the End" and our aspiration for the achievements and influence of that book.
