Features: The French Horn, also known as Horn in English, is our term for it. The French Horn evolved from ancient European hunting horns. Among brass instruments, the French Horn has the most round and graceful sound. In symphony, chamber music, and wind bands, it serves to blend string, woodwind, and brass instruments. Therefore, it is one of the essential members in an orchestra and also a member of the woodwind quintet. To promote the development of amateur French Horn teaching and make it more standardized, we were commissioned by the Extracurricular Music Examination Committee of the Central Conservatory of Music. Gathering the years of performance and teaching experience of domestic French Horn experts, referencing major international literature, and after extensively soliciting opinions from experts across the country, we thoroughly discussed and compiled this examination syllabus from Level 1 to Level 9. This syllabus considers both its logical and scientific progressive structure as well as the representativeness and diversity of the repertoire. It can be said that it is not only an examination textbook but also a progressive French Horn teaching manual.
