Features: Many small-scale livestock and poultry farmers in China are distributed in remote mountainous areas with inconvenient transportation. After livestock and poultry become ill, they often die before veterinary professionals can be called. When veterinary professionals inquire about the clinical symptoms exhibited by the sick animals before death and the post-mortem anatomical and pathological changes after death, it is often difficult to effectively control and prevent the disease because farmers cannot correctly observe and record these clinical and pathological changes. To address these issues, considering the characteristics of small-scale farmers, we carefully developed the "Pig Disease Prevention and Treatment: A Visual Guide" book, which is designed to be "easy to understand, easy to learn, and easy to implement."
Features of the book: In terms of writing, it avoids traditional methods and organizes diseases with similar clinical symptoms together for easier differentiation. It begins with an "orientation" section, allowing readers to quickly identify the possible disease based on the clinical symptoms observed in the animals and then find the corresponding prevention and treatment methods using the book's "orientation." The text also avoids technical terms and uses simple language to make it "easy to understand" for farmers. The book is rich in illustrations, providing readers with a visual understanding of the clinical symptoms of the animals, which are then supplemented with detailed textual descriptions, making it "easy to learn." The diagnostic, prevention, and treatment methods introduced in the book are simple, practical, and effective, avoiding issues related to equipment and other challenges that farmers may face, making it "easy to implement."
