Such professionals are needed in legal business exchanges with international counterparts, cross-border business, investment, trade, judicial cooperation, and other areas. The construction goal of the Legal English course is to find the best starting point for combining English and law, serving the cultivation of advanced international legal English talents. The teaching objectives of the Legal English course are to study classic original works of the Anglo-American legal system, master the knowledge and vocabulary of legal English, improve specific reading comprehension and bidirectional translation skills, and serve the bilingual teaching of international law. The Legal English course is primarily intended for third-year students of law and politics colleges and for advanced training of international legal professionals. The book features original and diverse materials. During the writing process, emphasis is placed on fundamental legal knowledge while highlighting the practical application of relevant English skills. Among them, Legal Research, Legal Systems, Due Process Law, Contract Law I, Contract Law II, and Commercial Law were written by Gu Haigen; Criminal Law, Family Relations Law, Inheritance Law, and Intellectual Property Law were written by Zhang Zhuping; Constitutional Law, Civil Procedure Law, Tort Law, and Property Law were written by Zhang Chunhui; Securities Law, Legal Education, and Supplementary Reading II in Commercial Law were written by Yao Junhua; International Law and the World Trade Organization were written by Si Xiaoli. The entire book is edited by Gu Haigen and Yao Junhua as chief editors. The materials selected for this book mainly come from domestic and foreign websites and published English works (see references at the end of the book). During the editing and publishing process, the editors and publishers attempted to contact the relevant copyright holders to resolve copyright and royalty issues. However, due to the large number of sources and some authors still being abroad, resolving this issue will take time. To ensure that students have textbooks for the new academic year, we had no choice but to proceed with printing. We sincerely hope that the relevant rights holders can understand and contact us promptly upon learning about the situation. We deeply apologize and express our sincere gratitude, and we will do our utmost to properly resolve the relevant copyright and royalty issues.
