Features: This book not only comprehensively and systematically summarizes the development history of the discipline of pedagogy but also promptly reflects the new requirements posed by China's current curriculum reform for theoretical research in pedagogy. While expressing theoretical consensus, it also elaborates on the author's innovative academic insights. Pedagogy is a historically long-standing and relatively mature branch of educational studies. This book attempts to place China's pedagogical research within the broader context of historical and contemporary education, teaching, and curriculum reform, aiming to provide a rough yet panoramic description of its formation, development, and core content. The book is divided into three parts and ten chapters:
Part 1, "Pedagogy and Its Research," first outlines the object and tasks of pedagogical research, the disciplinary nature and logical structure of pedagogy, and the relationship between pedagogy and curriculum theory. It then introduces the formation and development of pedagogy, and finally discusses the theoretical perspectives, research paradigms, and specific methods of pedagogical research.
Part 2 elaborates on "Principles and Methods of Teaching," including: the concept of teaching, the essence of the teaching process, educational value orientations and teaching objectives, teaching methods and teaching models, as well as teaching principles and strategies.
Part 3, "New Developments in Pedagogy," introduces pedagogical thought schools from countries such as the former Soviet Union, the United States, Germany, and Japan, reviews the nearly century-long development of modern pedagogy in China, examines the gains and losses in the construction and development of teaching theory in China during the 20th century, and finally provides a forward-looking description of the future development of pedagogy in China.
