Features: To implement the "Solid Waste Pollution Control Law of the People's Republic of China" and prevent pollution caused by the landfilling of hazardous waste to the environment, this standard has been formulated. This standard specifies the environmental protection requirements involved in the construction and operation of hazardous waste safe landfill sites, including conditions for waste acceptance, site selection, design, construction, operation, closure, and monitoring. Appendix A of this standard is an integral part of the standard. This standard is the first issuance. This standard was proposed by the Technology and Standards Department of the State Environmental Protection Administration. The Solid Waste Pollution Control Technology Research Institute of the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences was responsible for drafting this standard. This standard was approved by the State Environmental Protection Administration on November 26, 2001. The State Environmental Protection Administration is responsible for interpreting this standard.
