Features: The 5th Edition of Clinical Neurology provides a "problem-oriented" approach in neurology. The authors have accumulated their experience in training medical students and residents at the University of California, San Francisco, in the book. The chapters are arranged according to the problems patients typically present with. This edition has two notable features: Due to the rapid development of the molecular basis of neurological diseases and innovative treatments in recent years, such as those for headaches, epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis, this edition has added new content on the molecular mechanisms of diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and polyglutamine disorders, including Huntington's disease. Additionally, the treatment section has been updated and expanded to reflect new therapies for neurological diseases. The treatment drug tables on the back cover and the genetics summary table on the back flap have also been updated to reflect current perspectives. Another feature of this edition is the introduction of "Key Concepts," with numbered icons listing important concepts at the beginning of each chapter. The same numbered icons appearing in the text indicate the positions where these specific issues will be discussed in the chapter.
