Cang Shan Ge Ji

Author: Qian Chengzhi (Qing Dynasty) compiled by Tang Huaquan
Publisher:
Publication Date: 2004-12-01
Features: The Collected Works of Zangshan Pavilion, totaling twenty-four volumes, are based on the edition compiled and printed by Longtan Room in the thirty-fourth year of the Guangxu reign (1908). It includes fourteen volumes of Zangshan Pavilion Poems, six volumes of Zangshan Pavilion Prose, and four volumes of Zangshan Pavilion Letters. The original Zangshan Pavilion Collection was self-edited by the author Qian Chengzhi, consisting of twenty volumes with poems followed by prose, uniformly organized into volumes, and without letters. This collection was long circulated in manuscript form, known as the Collected Manuscripts of Zangshan Pavilion, with most of the works composed during the author's early years and the Southern Ming regime, ending in late 1651 when the author returned to his hometown. The collection also includes a small number of works composed after his return, deeply reflecting on the history of Nanyang and expressing profound sorrow over the loss of the nation. This demonstrates that the original Zangshan Pavilion Collection differs significantly from the later compiled Zangshan Pavilion Poems and Prose in terms of chronological boundaries and content nature. The four volumes of letters are the author's late correspondence, which were not included in the original collection or were not fully collected. They were once preserved in manuscript form and later compiled with the poems and prose by Longtan Room, organized into separate volumes.
