Features: On the basis of adhering to the guiding position of Marxism, it insists on the combination of theory with practice and actively promotes theoretical innovation, which can be said to be the basic content of the guiding principles for the prosperity and development of philosophy and social sciences. Regarding theoretical innovation, it is necessary to adhere to the direction of serving the people and socialism, as well as the principle of "let a hundred flowers bloom and let a hundred schools of thought contend." The former emphasizes the direction of theoretical innovation, while the latter clarifies the institutional guarantee for theoretical innovation. Without the institutional arrangement of the "double hundred" principle, it would be difficult to achieve innovation and the prosperity of philosophy and social sciences. Regarding the combination of theory with practice, if we want to reflect the guiding role of philosophy and social sciences in practice, there is the issue of transforming philosophy and social sciences into real productive forces. The forms of transformation can be reflected in government decisions (such as the formulation of strategies and policies, institutional reforms, etc.) and corporate decisions (such as the determination of corporate strategies and tactics, the optimization of management systems, etc.). This is the preliminary work carried out to implement the theoretical research and construction project of Marxism and to compile political economy textbooks that meet the requirements of socialism with Chinese characteristics, reflecting the spirit of continuously advancing the innovation of basic economic theories based on the vivid practice of China's economic development. The book is divided into five chapters:
Chapter 1 studies the paradigm issue of political economy in the primary stage of socialism. The author believes that the political economy in the primary stage of socialism takes the increase of social wealth as its starting point and destination. In terms of research fields, research objects, and analytical methods, it breaks through the traditional theoretical paradigm. Based on a scientific understanding of contemporary capitalism, it conducts an analysis of the economic system, economic operation, and economic development of socialism in practice.
Chapter 2 studies the value law as a general principle of the market economy and the market mechanism. After summarizing the main content and role of the value law, the author examines the market mechanism as the form of action of the value law and the market system as its carrier, further analyzing the advantages and shortcomings of market regulation.
Chapter 3 analyzes the trends of change in the two economic systems of socialism and capitalism. Regarding the issues of labor and the labor theory of value involved in these changes, the author, guided by developing Marxism, conducts further research on productive labor, value creation and distribution under socialist conditions, etc., after an in-depth discussion of relevant methodological issues.
Chapter 4 summarizes some urgent practical issues in China's economic reform and development that require explanation from the field of economics. For example, the contradiction between the dominant position of public ownership and the conditions required for a decentralized asset principal-agent system, the contradiction between the dominant position of the state-owned economy and the asset tradability required by the market economy, the contradiction between corporate reform and the transformation of the socio-economic external environment, and the contradiction between the transfer of rural cultivated land and population mobility, etc.
Chapter 5 explores the historical transformation of Chinese economics. The author proposes that the rapid development of economic globalization and the rise of the knowledge economy require Chinese economics to establish new theories of Chinese reform economics, institutional change theory, and a new theory of a tripartite economy; it also requires a historical turn from "reform economics" to "development economics" based on changes in the research themes of Chinese economics, and the establishment of a comprehensive theoretical framework for economic development.
