Features: Painters born in the 1960s can be considered both unlucky and fortunate. In their era, the art world was gradually turbulent, academic values declined, and cultural standards were even disregarded. As a result, their early education in art was inherently insufficient. However, when they entered art academies in the 1980s with their personal talents, art education underwent standardized development, and the study of painting flourished and revitalized. They thus received comprehensive nourishment both inside and outside the academies, accumulating more artistic skills than their predecessors. During the 1990s and beyond the turn of the century, cultural openness prevailed, bridging the gap between modern and traditional, as well as ancient methods and new ideas. The practical conditions for artistic creation reached their historical peak, and they were able to seize the opportunity, fully expressing their talents and gradually advancing in their art. For this reason, from their artistic journey, we can see the efforts of a generation of painters who believed that "divine inspiration must be sought through human effort," as well as the ideals of a generation of painters who aspired to "ride alongside the winds and clouds." The series of books "Chinese Painting World · 60th Generation" is based on the birth years of the painters as the theme, with the focus placed on the outstanding figures of the same generation, all edited by the renowned art historian and theorist Mr. Fan Di'an.
