Features: This book aims to provide candidates with a large number of practical exercises to quickly improve their knowledge in grammar, vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, logic, context, sociocultural background, and other areas, helping them enhance their comprehensive ability in English knowledge and language skills within a short period.
Reading Comprehension: It offers 170 reading passages, including 150 A-section questions (multiple-choice) and 20 B-section questions (matching). The total number of questions exceeds 1,000, accompanied by "Vocabulary and Phrases," "Answers and Explanations," and "Reference Translations." The content covers political, economic, cultural, historical, technological, humanistic, linguistic, and sociocultural background knowledge of English-speaking countries, strengthening the use of habitual expressions in English vocabulary, phrases, and sentence structures. This enables candidates to quickly develop comprehensive problem-solving skills. It also provides nearly 400 simulated practice questions for C-section (English-Chinese translation), equipped with translation answers, to cultivate candidates' ability to accurately understand English sentences in context and express them correctly in Chinese, ensuring translations are accurate, complete, and fluent. The characteristics of English-Chinese translation questions include long and complex sentences, abstract content. Candidates should gradually master the techniques for translating long sentences. For particularly challenging sentences in the exercises, they should persist and first look up unfamiliar words in "Vocabulary and Phrases" to understand them correctly before expressing them fluently, while repeatedly comparing with the answers.
English Knowledge Application: It provides 35 practical exercise passages and 700 practice questions. English Knowledge Application (i.e., Cloze Test) primarily assesses reading ability, with the first step being to grasp the main idea of the passage. Blank-filling questions can be categorized into four types: vocabulary, grammatical structure, collocation, and discourse cohesion, with vocabulary being the most common and a key focus of the exam. The book offers hints for solving problems, and candidates should summarize these methods through practice.
