Features: The "Olympic Subject Competitions for Primary and Secondary Schools" series consists of over 200 varieties, including textbook series, introductory textbooks, practice papers, mock exam papers, intensive textbooks, classic problem-solving series, weekly tests, question compilations, and multi-solution series. This series is compiled by the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads and is a research outcome of the Beijing Step-by-Step Quality Education Research Institute. Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out uniquely and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or complete rewrites, it has been renamed as "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series and is now re-published and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. On this occasion of the re-publication, sincere thanks are extended to millions of readers across the country. Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (abbreviated as "Subject Olympiads") are the most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students in China. Subject Olympiads are inspired by and derived from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness—qualities that are precisely at the core of quality education. This is also what future development requires. Based on years of careful research on this activity both domestically and internationally, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to compile and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology, totaling over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally and hold the greatest charm in the hearts of primary and secondary school teachers and students. The compilation purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from textbooks but higher than textbooks. Derived from textbooks means it is written in accordance with the latest [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education, while being higher than textbooks means it closely aligns with the competition syllabi of various levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and ability requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing skills.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise and structurally rational. Each book is designed with discipline-specific layers, scientifically organized, and follows a step-by-step principle, offering in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
3. Innovative: Features novel and engaging question types. It collects the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both domestically and internationally, representing the highest level of current Olympiads and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Refined: Selects exemplary problems that are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and achievable. Emphasizes the ability to generalize from specific examples and apply knowledge to different contexts; focuses on multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches to problems; and prioritizes the training of thinking skills without resorting to rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: Assembles top educators and highlights famous competitions. The Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited distinguished professors from prestigious universities, elite teachers from key secondary schools, senior teachers, subject leaders, and renowned Olympic medal coaches to contribute to the series.
