Features: The "Olympic Subject Competitions for Primary and Secondary Schools" series consists of over 200 varieties, including textbook series, introductory textbooks, practice papers, mock exam papers, intensive textbooks, classic problem-solving series, weekly tests, question compilations, and multi-solution series. This series is organized by the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads and is a research outcome of the Beijing Step-by-Step Quality Education Research Institute. Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out uniquely and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or complete rewrites, it has been renamed as "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" series, and is now re-published and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. At this re-publication, sincere gratitude is extended to millions of readers across the country. Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (briefly referred to as "Subject Olympiads") are one of the most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students in China. Subject Olympiads are derived from and extended from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential secondary school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness—qualities that are precisely at the core of quality education. This is also the need for future development. Based on years of in-depth research on this activity and a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to write and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology—comprising over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally, and are the most appealing in the hearts of primary and secondary school teachers and students. The purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from textbooks but also surpassing them. Derived from textbooks means referencing the latest [curriculum standards] issued by the Ministry of Education; surpassing textbooks means closely aligning with competition syllabi at all levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and skill requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing abilities.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise and well-structured. Each book is designed according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a progressive principle, offering in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
3. New: Features novel and engaging question types. It compiles the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both China and abroad, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as innovative ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Refined: Selects exemplary problems that are challenging yet logical, flexible, and achievable. Emphasizes the ability to generalize from specific examples and apply knowledge to different contexts; focuses on multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches to problems; and prioritizes the training of thinking skills without resorting to rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: Assembles top educators and competition highlights. The Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited renowned professors from prestigious universities, special-grade teachers from key secondary schools, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad medal coaches to contribute.
