Features: Agricultural insurance is a system arrangement that manages agricultural production risks through insurance means. The establishment of agricultural insurance plays a certain role in risk management, ensuring farmers' income, and promoting rural economy. Particularly under WTO conditions, agricultural insurance is not only an effective tool for government support of agriculture but also an important trend in world agricultural policy. China has joined the WTO, making the issue of how to use agricultural insurance as a means to support and protect agriculture increasingly prominent. Whether from an international perspective or from China's practice, both purely commercial operations and government-sponsored agricultural insurance systems face numerous difficulties. Based on this, this book takes the actors of agricultural insurance as the research object, analyzing how to establish an agricultural insurance system with coordinated behavior of these actors. It applies theories such as new institutional economics and game theory to analyze the behavior of agricultural insurance actors and employs relevant models to test their behavior. The book is divided into three parts, totaling eleven chapters. The basic conclusion of the research is that the nature of agricultural insurance is policy-based insurance. Currently, the operation of agricultural insurance in China must adopt a combination of policy-based and commercial approaches, with the government playing a leading role. The government must act in the interest of the entire society, vigorously support the development of agricultural insurance, and explore effective ways to operate agricultural insurance.
