Features: Payment is the process of transferring funds from the payer's account to the payee's account to settle creditor-debtor relationships. The evolution and development of payment tools and payment systems are consistent with the evolution of human civilization. In the late 1950s, after computers were applied in banking, some banks in developed countries established high-speed electronic payment systems using mainframe computers, terminals, electronic information networks, and other electronic communication equipment. Electronic payment systems changed traditional payment settlement methods, reduced costs, and improved efficiency, leading to rapid development. Countries subsequently established large-value electronic payment systems and consumer-focused POS and ATM systems. Meanwhile, as a payment tool, money, after passing through stages of physical objects, precious metals, and paper-based media, gave rise to the notable emergence of electronic money in the payment field. The emergence of electronic money greatly broke through the temporal and spatial limitations of the real world, and the widespread use of the internet in people's lives and work enabled the faster processing of economic affairs using electronic money. While new payment tools and systems bring efficiency to people, they also pose a strong impact on traditional legal systems. Countries and international organizations have closely monitored electronic money and electronic-supported systems and issued corresponding laws. This book is divided into five parts: electronic money, electronic payment systems, security control measures for electronic payments, civil legal liability for electronic payments, and the legislative status of electronic payments, providing an elaboration on electronic payments and touching upon many existing issues in the field.
