Features: This book is part of the results of the "Dissemination and Promotion of EU Regional Policies" project, a small project under the China-EU Small Project Facilitation Fund, which is supported by the European Commission. The China-EU Small Project Facilitation Fund is a fund provided by the European Commission to support China's reform process and help China further integrate into the global economy. Its objective is to provide rapid and efficient support for a series of short-cycle, high-quality, and quick-impact projects in areas of strategic importance and shared interests for both the EU and China. The EU, as a supranational institution, primarily functions to promote the construction of the Economic and Monetary Union, responsible for macroeconomic regulation, regional development, the creation of the internal market, the formulation of competition rules, labor employment, agriculture, transportation, energy, the information industry, environmental protection, and social development, as well as the planning and major project construction in these fields. The EU operates under a social market economy system, which shares many similarities with China's socialist market economy system. Many of its experiences, lessons, and practices are worth learning from and adopting by China. Introducing EU regional policies is of great importance for China in coordinating regional economic and social development. This book is divided into three parts: the first part introduces the current state of EU economic development, existing problems, and future prospects after the implementation of the EU Lisbon Strategy; the second part explores the historical evolution and adjustment direction of macroeconomic control policies such as EU monetary policy, fiscal policy, and agricultural policy, as well as their impact on the EU and its member states' economies; the third part analyzes the development history, process, and effectiveness of EU regional development policies, the impact of member states' policies on EU regional policies, and the impact of EU regional policies on member states.
