Features: Basic Economics Mathematics is one of the core courses designated by the Ministry of Education for undergraduate finance and economics majors, including three courses: "Calculus," "Linear Algebra," and "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics." Through years of teaching practice, we have found that finance and economics students generally struggle with math problems. In particular, linear algebra exercises are abstract and involve many proofs, while probability theory and mathematical statistics are courses where students first encounter the study of random phenomena, significantly increasing the learning difficulty and often leaving them unsure how to approach certain problems. Without doing exercises, it is impossible to excel in mathematics. At the same time, today's college students face a heavy course load, tight schedules, and the need to prepare for various proficiency exams, leaving them with limited time and energy to work through a large number of exercises. Therefore, we have compiled this study and problem-solving guide, aiming to help students improve their problem-solving skills quickly by selecting a smaller number of representative exercises, and to thoroughly master basic concepts, theories, and operational skills, thereby achieving better learning outcomes. As demonstrated by the previously published "Calculus Study and Problem-Solving Guide," it has indeed achieved the above goals and has been widely welcomed by students. The content of this book is divided into two parts, each containing several chapters. Each chapter includes four sections: basic requirements and learning points, understanding and analysis of main content, typical example solutions, and exercises with answers. As a supplementary textbook, highlighting key points and reinforcing practice are the features of this book. It can be used in conjunction with excellent textbooks designated by the Ministry of Education, such as "Linear Algebra" and "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics" published by China Renmin University Press, or as a study guide or reference book for undergraduate students in various social education programs.
