Features: Ju Kai Na Ye is a very individualistic author. Those who have read her works say that her writing is full of spirituality. Indeed, many have not met Ju Kai, but through her words, they can recognize her—because her writing is too charming. Ju Kai's writing, like her personality, is very unique, with an undeniable talent. A Certain Kind of Pain, Gentle is a collection of Ju Kai Na Ye's spontaneous writings. While reading, we can see the author's presence and also trace her inner journey. "Diamonds are the heart of love. If you ask the men around you how many carats of love they have for me, they will be shocked. Saying too little might upset you, and make me seem petty. Saying too much might make me feel you're not worth it, and that I'm being insincere. Love is more safely compared to stars, because no woman would want to buy the biggest one to shine brilliantly." (A Certain Kind of Pain, Gentle. Radiant Flow) I love these sentences—the gentle pain they convey makes my heart race, and I can almost feel a faint sting after reading them. I love these sentences, too, as they reflect the awakening that comes from looking past the surface and the release after pain. Though pained and disappointed, they still retain a longing for love. This book is divided into four parts: "Entwined," "Qin and Se," "Fragments," and "Shards," with the "Fragments" section being particularly notable. In it, Ju Kai critiques several of her female friends, her words sharp and her metaphors exquisite. After reading, you close the book in awe of the author's linguistic precision and admiration for her keen insights. I love Ju Kai's books—her spontaneous, essay-like writings, so full of spirituality. I love this book, too, with its beige paper and exquisite cover, where the content and style complement each other so perfectly. A good book is like this—one can read it or collect it, and both experiences are equally rewarding. A Certain Kind of Pain, Gentle is just that.
